Bathroom mildew

Bathroom mildew is a common shower stall guest. Invited by dark corners, poor ventilation and humid conditions of many shower stalls, mildew makes its presence known with a characteristic smell and discoloration of tiling, walls and other surfaces. Here’s how to make the fungi feel unwelcome: using a spray bottle, concoct a 50/50 solution of hydrogen peroxide and water and apply liberally onto all hard, non-porous surfaces. Let stand and repeat after 2-3 hours. The peroxide is a safe alternative to bleach, yet it’s an effective inhibitor of mildew growth.   Peroxide is 100% safe as it breaks down into water and oxygen after you use it.  Buy some from your local health food store as it is more concentrated than the kind you can buy at a pharmacy.  Also be aware that moisture and mildew go hand in hand, so you want to run your vent when you are taking a shower and try to keep wet towels off the floor.  When it comes to mold and mildew problems moisture is your enemy.  If you are unable to control the mildew on yoour own you can always give us a call at 866 543-3257 and we will be happy to come take a look at your problem.
